Privacy Policy
A try-on service only works if you trust it with your image. This policy sets out, in plain terms, how your photo and the data derived from it are used, protected and deleted.
01The data this service handles
This policy explains how the SKANAJO service handles your information when you use it to try on fashion, eyewear and accessories. The service is built around a single, sensitive input: the photo you provide to see items rendered on yourself.
The information handled falls into a few groups: the photo you skan, the proportions and measurements derived from that photo to place items and calculate scores, the looks and items you choose to save, and the basic account details needed to run your access.
02How your photo is used
Your photo is used for one purpose: to render virtual try-ons for you and to calculate the Skan Score that accompanies each item. It is the canvas every try-on is built on, which is why it is stored and reused rather than re-requested for each item.
Your photo is not used to build advertising profiles, is not sold, and is not shared as a public profile or social feed. It is not repurposed for anything you have not explicitly asked the service to do.
03Derived data and the Skan Score
To place an item accurately and score its fit, the service reads proportions from your photo - for example, facial geometry for eyewear or body ratios for clothing. This derived data exists to power your renders and recommendations.
Recommendations improve as you use the service, shaped by the items you try, keep and pass on. This learning is applied to your experience and is not used to identify you to third parties.
04Cross-brand try-on
The service works across participating brands and retailers so a single look can span multiple labels. When you try on an item, the necessary catalogue information about that item is used to render it on your photo.
Your photo and derived data remain on your account throughout. Trying on a brand's item does not hand that brand your photo.
05Storage, security and retention
Your photo and the data derived from it are encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the systems that render try-ons and calculate scores, and to the operations needed to run your account.
Personal image data is retained while your account is active because it powers every try-on. It is not kept for longer than is needed to provide the service you have asked for.
06Deletion and your control
You can delete an individual saved look, remove your photo, or close your account at any time. Deletion removes the associated image data from the active systems that run the service, not only from your view of the app.
Where you have provided information to use a feature, you remain in control of it and can withdraw it by deleting the relevant data or your account.
07Third-party processing
Running the service relies on a small number of infrastructure and communication providers - for example, to deliver account emails such as your login details after signup. These providers process information only to perform the task requested and under appropriate obligations.
Item and catalogue data originates from participating brands and retailers so their products can be rendered and scored.
08Changes to this policy
As the service adds categories, features and brand coverage, this policy may be revised so it continues to describe how information is actually handled. Material changes will be reflected here.
Continuing to use the service after a revision means the current version of this policy applies to your use of it.
